A little bit about Nick Tomkin

With over twenty years of experience in the technology industry, Nick has successfully managed, designed and developed numerous applications for a long list of high-profile organizations including Rogers, Microsoft, Pepsi Co., Disney Co., McDonalds Canada, etc. Nick has also had the opportunity to apply his wide range of skills for the benefit of several, well known international agencies, such as Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), working on smaller to large scale projects and campaigns. In addition the numerous websites, web applications and mobile apps he has designed and developed, Nick is also an experienced product developer – having built both hardware and software products and services from concept to market.

In combination with his deep understanding of both design and development, Nick is often credited for his natural ability to see a digital experience through the eyes of the user. His unique blend of valuable skill sets separates him from other designer/developers, but also allows him to intuitively and consistently create engaging and memorable user experiences.

Nick is also a strong advocate for the arts in Hamilton and helping developing minds learn to code. As such, Nick teaches programming at HWDSB through IEC’s CodeClub initiative and is a director on the board for the Hamilton Arts Council.

Why I love what I do.

One of my favourite quotes comes to mind: “He who works with his hands is a labourer. He who works with his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands, his head, and his heart is an artist.” Every day, I get to work in an environment with people who understand this implicitly.
